Upgraditus. Gear Acquisition Syndrome. Call it what you will, we have all suffered from this terrible debilitating disease. Camera manufacturers are pushing new products onto us with a promise that our next camera will be the one, the perfect camera. The one that turns everything we shoot into a masterpiece.
If you simply buy this new camera your work will make everything else look like snapshots. Other photographers wish they could get shots as good as you, but they can’t because they don’t have this awesome camera that you can purchase for the once in a lifetime price of a second hand car / deposit on a house.
Camera manufacturers are a business. If we didn’t lust after the newest lenses or the ground breaking new body, then their advertising departments would not be doing their job properly. Millions of dollars are spent every year to tempt you to part with your hard earned cash for their newest release “now with sprinkles”.
